Hypnosis
Hypnosis is a naturally occurring trance-like mental state that allows one to tap into the subconscious mind, to open up to positive influences and facilitate effective and beneficial change of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.
By enhancing general functioning, hypnosis can create a profound impact on one’s health, lifestyle, success, and harness our untapped potential. As a natural state of mind, hypnosis offers a holistic approach for physical, spiritual and emotional well-being and opens the door for positive transformation. An art and a science, hypnosis origins date back to sacred ancient Egyptian sleeping temples dedicated to healing and spiritual practices while also undergoing contemporary neuro-scientific and psychological study and research resulting in a versatile practice that benefits people in modern times.
The Subconscious Mind:
We are our mind. What our mind believes creates our reality. Imagine the conscious mind as the small tip of an iceberg floating above water. The conscious mind is where waking thought, effort, rationalization and willpower take place. However, the conscious mind does not control our actions. Our actions are almost exclusively governed by the subconscious mind. Below the surface, our subconscious mind represents the largest part of our mind and stores everything we have learned in our lives. It houses our emotions, memories, beliefs, instincts, and plays a crucial role in shaping our habits and behaviors. During hypnosis, the conscious mind and the logic associated with it, take a back seat and the subconscious mind becomes more accessible. Many aspects of our lives are influenced by the programming stored in the subconscious, often formed during childhood and early experiences. Hypnosis lies in its ability to work at a subconscious level, thereby directly targeting the source. Working in the subconscious is actually how we can shift and change. Through this process, we gain insights into behaviors, and thought patterns, to aid in self-improvement and healing.
Brain Wave States:
During a hypnotic trance, the brainwave activity sweet spot is usually between the alpha and theta frequencies. This relaxed state of consciousness enables the hypnotized individual to bypass their critical conscious mind and access the imaginative subconscious mind and inner wisdom. In this state, therapeutic techniques and positive suggestions to find answers within can be more readily accepted and integrated, facilitating beneficial changes in thoughts, behaviors, and emotions.

I practice a style of modern hypnosis and NLP (Neuro-linguistic Programing) as healing tools using language and imagination to create images in the subconscious mind to release, reframe and/or create a new reality. I act as your safe guide through a journey of discovery and integration.

Postpartum
The postpartum period is an important and sacred time for a new family. Postpartum healing is a unique journey for each person. Due to the various hormone fluctuations and physical and emotional changes the body experiences while returning to its pre-pregnancy state, it is crucial for new mothers and parents to prioritize their own physical and mental well-being.
Many cite the postpartum period as either six to eight weeks after birth, 12 weeks or the “fourth trimester”, or a delayed postpartum phase lasting up to six months. I believe this period extends well beyond six months and can be experienced for years.

Pediatric Hypnosis
During the period from birth until approximately the age of 7, our minds operate in a state akin to a hypnotic trance. This is why children can effortlessly grasp languages during this phase of life. They act as sponges, seamlessly absorbing information from their surroundings. During the crucial age from 0-7, the patterns and programming we gradually develop during adolescence and that continue to replicate throughout adulthood lay the foundation for the remainder of our lives. Sometimes these patterns do not serve us and later turn to depression, anxiety, or disease.
Since a child’s early consciousness is naturally quite similar to that of hypnosis, kids and adolescents are exceedingly receptive to connecting to their own wisdom. I work with children and teenagers as a complementary approach to medical, psychological and behavioral treatments to address their needs. A safe and trusting environment where the child feels comfortable is established so the child may engage in their imagination and create positive mental images or stories to promote healing and release unwanted behaviors.

Hypnosis is not intended to replace, but enhance the therapy and treatment provided by licensed psychotherapists, counselors, psychiatric physicians, or medical doctors. Rather than a substitute, hypnosis can serve as a valuable complement to these professional services.
